Well, finally we made it! We had received more than 500 entries for the festival this year, and so we needed some days more to see all the films. And here are the films we selected for the REC Filmfestival 2013 - Program english.pdf, which will take place from the 13th to 16th of November:

For technical reasons we had to postpone the festival date into November. So the next festival will take place from the 13th to 16th of November 2013. The venue will be again the "Weisse Rose" in central Berlin.
Also we postponed now the deadline for entries: The new deadline for entries is the 15th of August 2013. We are looking for your imaginative, extraordinary, individual, humorous or provocative films. As usual, all topics and genres are allowed, it could be fiction, documentary or animated films in every length. We have a competition for two age groups: age 6 to 15 years and age 16 to 27 years.

Films can be sent until August 15th, please use the portal filmfestivals4u.net for your entry. You can also use there a direct link for your entries (Both websites are in English.)
After 21 years of Jugendmedienfestival the time has come to evaluate and make changes, when necessary. Our aim in this process was to concentrate even more on the strengths of our festival and to meet the expectations of the people it was made for: the young film makers as well as the young audience.
For this reason we have decided to divide the one festival into two and present it in this form way in November 2013. REC – Junges Internationales Filmfestival offers the opportunity to present the films to a critical public and at the same time to communicate with equals and professionals to young film makers from age 15 to 27. They can show their work to an interested audience while getting direct competent feedback from the expert jury. For The audience is we presented an attractive range of young film through all genres, an insight into the film making of tomorrow.
REC for Kids focuses also on a multifaceted program with exciting, amusing and thought-provoking contributions by kids between 6 and 15 years. Special attention is paid to the aspect of media education. For The audience is we presented a range of films off the mainstream which often contradict the pure consumption of films. Professional guidance through the program and workshops provide background information about film language and production process and lead to a more active process of watching films.
But not only reception is a major topic at the festival also the making of films itself: there will be workshops both in the framework of a school project and at the time of the festival in which the kids learn how to make an animation animated film. The results will be screened at the award ceremony.
Deadline for submission of films is August 15th. As it is not possible to draw an exact age line, films of 15-year-olds might be allocated to either one of the festivals.
